Angry This is why you shouldn't solely rely on parking sensors & rear camera

This is what happens when you rely too much on the rear camera & parking sensors.

I backed into a metal street sign backing up. It was pitch black out.

I was parked in the grass which was long enough to partially block/interfere with my rear parking sensors. And the skinny metal post that I hit was just out of the view of my camera (or I just didn't see it through the tall grass/weeds).

Result - I felt I hit something. Then when I drove forward again, part of my rear bumper got ripped off. It was clean enough so that I was able to "pop" it back into place, but as you can see, it doesn't align perfectly.

All things considered, I was lucky that there was no real body damage (only some scrapes to the lower bumper and a bit on the exhaust tip). My Xpel PFF got torn off a bit too.
