Anyone know the torque spec on the dsg Trans bolts? Just buttoned up and need to lock it down...can't find it anywhere.

tight. Just use experience and common sense. If you know how to wrench then you will know how tight to make it. Not trying to be a dick but if you been wrenching for awhile you will understand. I only tq internal drivetrain components and lug nuts only.

To each their own but i'm with "BlownOne" on torquing. I've been wrenching for about 15 years, built motors, installed LSDs, etc. but I still torque everything down to my oil filter housing and oil drain plug on my S4. When i used to be a Metrology engineer i used to calibrate my torque wrenches at work with the torque measuring standard, it could be some form OCD.

While some people feel comfortable by feel, some people, even the most experienced individuals torque every fastener.

I'd like to know the trans bolts torque spec myself.

I've been wrenching since I was in the womb brotha, but I like to KNOW 100% for sure I'm not going to get a leak when it comes to sealing fluids. There seems to be a lack of information on a lot of our drivetrain maintenance, so I'm trying to make it crystal clear for everybody.

Hey Will, did you replace the drivetrain stabilizer bolts with new stretch bolts? Also, you went with OEM fluid I'm assuming? Jjones tried out the redline DCT fluid on his last DSG fluid change and he seemed to like it. I was debating if I should try that fluid also or stick to the OEM stuff.

Hey brotha, no I'm not replacing the X-brace's stretch bolts...I just add red loctite and tighten them back up. If they were head bolts I would for sure (unless I had arp hardware), but they are just holding a piece of aluminum to our car. Fwiw, when I removed them for the second time (already changed to ak brace) they were still crazy tight just like I left them.

Yes I spent the extra cash to use oem fluid because it's too expensive of a part to try and save $100 on...plus you only do the service every 40k so it's really a small investment in longevity of the trans. I will be changing my dsg fluid every 15-20k miles since ill be making a lot more power than stock.

I will be adding the torque specs for the transmission pan bolt this afternoon. Cheers!🍺

I feel ya. I usually never have issues with tightening a pan with a gasket or sealant and leaking shortly down the road. but if it was 2 machined surfaces I would tq no room for error. to each their own, there are probably tq spec for interior trim bolts too.
