    ECS RS6 Grill Installed - C7.5 S6

I decided to pull the trigger on a grille that wasn't the price of a stage I tune and ECS sent mine over this weekend.

Overall the grille feels solid. I had the ECS grill on my B8.5 S4 and this one feels just as good. The only part of the grille that feels flimsy is the lower grille where the "quattro" would be installed if it were an OEM grille. I went with the black surround to keep the black optics and i feel it goes with the overall feel very well.

For those considering this grille, make sure you have some good trim tools to get the stock grille out of the bumper b/c i can say that was the worst part of the entire install. Second behind that was disconnecting all the wires from the back of the bumper when disconnected as you only have about 6 inches to work. Make sure you have something to support the grille while you disconnect everything or get ready to sweat your ass off and potentially break something.

There are really only two parts i am a little disappointed in and that is place where the front camera mounts and the mount for the rings.

The camera mount took a hell of a lot of cutting and trimming to get it even installed and even after everything it doesn't sit perfectly. It would have been nice if they matched the back of a stock grill better to get the spacing correct to use the OEM mount. I ended up cutting everything off the front of the OEM to get the camera close enough to fit into the spot for it on the grille.

The issue with the place for the rings is that it wasn't quite perfectly sized and made it difficult to install the rings without breaking some of the mounting tabs. You can't tell in the picture, but the rings aren't flush on the left side and i may end up buying another set of rings to see if i can get it in there better.

Summary: for the cost of the grille i am very happy with the final product. As with a new part from any vendor there are some areas of improvement, but i got exactly what i paid for.

I used a great post from enigma1406 for the basic parts of the install. I would only add that there are a few more bolts in the wheels wells when accessing the bolts to disconnect the bumper, otherwise his post is spot on for a C7.5.

Now the pics. Car is dirty and the wheels are filthy, but you get the idea.

I had the same exact problem with the rings. There is no possible way to mount them flush, regardless of how they tell you to mount. Physically it doesn't line up at all

Looks really good MV! I wonder if we could source the quattro script anywhere to add to this grill?

Thanks Dj. I thought about it, but i like the look without the quattro as i have to many flash backs to Honda civic's with HONDA across the back window. My guess is you would have to get it right from Audi since it is trademarked.

If there were 1/8 of an inch it would be perfect, but that is what you get non OEM i guess.

Great work and looks good. You have me a little worried as I am installing mine on my S7.5 on Friday. Ill be sure to post pics as I am having the dealer do the install to ensure the camera is aligned, etc.

There are plenty of the "Quattro" script ones available. China doesn't seem to care too much about copy right infringement.

Granted, mine is not a facelift, I'm sure they are available if you wanted it. While I have the script, I do understand the Honda comment. Sometimes I'm not a fan but I like the break up of the grille and without the script, the lower opening seems pointless so I went with it. I like the look most days.
Do it right, or don't bother.

I love the Quattro script! Not sure why but I do. I think your right it helps break up the grille.

i bet they all come from the same factory in china.

i'd buy from somewhere else than ECS and save money.
