    Somewhat Silly Question

Hello - somewhat silly question here.

Has anybody found an effective way to vacuum the inside of the car, right between the door sill and the glide rail for the seat? Unfortunately my vacuum cleaner doesn't have an attachment that is skinny enough to get in there. The rest of my interior is flawless, save for this one little strip of carpeting on both the driver and passenger side where five years of dust and debris has accumulated. Thanks!

My wife bought a small vacuum cleaner made by Metro (I think it was this one) which has a fairly skinny attachment that fits into the area you mentioned if I remember correctly. It doesn't have the best suction, but it gets the job done for the car.

Put the height of the seat bottom all the way up, or buy a skinny vacuum attachment for cheap online. Otherwise, remove the seat.

Maybe try putting a paper towel or toiler paper cardboard tube on the end of your vacuum cleaner hose and squeeze the end a bit?

You make it sound like his car will blow up if he takes his seat out... If you want to take the seats out to clean its pretty easy.

if you take seat out you must be careful of getting warning light about air bags. I think you have to disconnect battery first. Also seats are bulky , can be damaged or can damage other parts or car. Just to clean car? Why risk it. Just get a proper vac with proper nozzle. Easy

Harbor freight sells a kit with around 10 mini attachments that fit a regular vacuum. I think the whole kit is like $8.

I have found that my Dyson V6's crevice tool fits perfect between the sill and the seat.

that looks like one of those items where once you buy it and it worked, you wondered why you never thought that idea originally.

Don't take out the seats. That's just ridiculous, only to get in there...

It's much better to take out the carpet.

why bother to take out carpet. Just get thin nozzle for vac or vac with thin nozzle. It takes less than 5,minutes to vacuum car with proper vacuum cleaner with thin nozzle .

The best $7 u will ever spend on your interior car care. Very well made works well. Between seats air vents, window sills, the creases in your seats, cup holders, gear shifter, really anything honestly.

My favorite option is to remove the carpets - although that my not be enough - so why not also cut a whole in the floorboard so that the dirt will just fall out - and the wind while driving will also act as A/C - it's a two-fer option!!!!

So not so "Silly Question" after all.. quite a few good responses

I had none of these issues when I swapped my seats. I've taken them out and put them in at least 5 or 6 times during the swap... The passenger seat recognition module doesn't plug and play for all A4 and S4s. For the record not saying its easier to do, just saying if you want to go for the deep cleaning with like a steam vac and really get in there, taking the seats out is an option. I would probably opt for the vac hack over the seat removal. I'm not that anal when it comes to cleaning my car.
