    Girodisc RS5 brake pads

anyone out there ever use these? Price is pretty good at $250 for the fronts. They have plugs for the pad sensor. Girodisc claims less dust and good initial bite.

I was considering pairing them up with the ECS true float wave discs.

I was going to to the Girodisc rotors as well, but, my 18" winter wheels won't clear those 380mm rotors. And I'm not going to invest in another set of wheels and winter treads lol

Open to any feedback anyone may have about their pads though! If there isn't any info out there, I may have to go with the Carbotech 1521 pads. There are a number of folks on this board that like those.

    cheers!

I came across an older thread of yours earlier but the details are escaping me at the moment...what was the last brake rotor/pad setup you were running?

Girodisc seems like an excellent solution.

1300 - fronts and 800 for replace rings (pair)
    700 - rears (pair)

I also like the spring nut mechanism to handle temperature extremes.

First on my mod list rigt now....

It is adbender. And if I didn't have 18" wheels to run in the winter time, I would consider installing the Girodisc rotors as well. Alas, my wheels will not clear them.

chrissurfr - I have decided I am going to pair the Girodisc front pads with some brand new ECS true-float rotors.

well, for the couple that are in this thread, I placed my order today. I opted for the ECS tru-float rotors and for pads I decided on EBC Red Stuff.

once they arrive, I'll get everything installed, bedded and see if I made a good choice!

If you go with the same stuff I did you are looking at just over an $1,100 bill for the pads and rotors.
