    Few electronics not working

A few days ago, I finished rebuilding and installing a new 1.8 in my Audi. My brother trying to be helpful hooked up jumper cables to the terminals but when he did, he put them on reverse. Which made the turn signals, headlights and radiator fans come on. Afterwards the radio, wipers, turn signals and auto headlights wouldn't come on. All of the fuse terminals were checked and they were still good. I already checked the CCM through vagcom so that's still good. I did forget to check the CECM through vagcom, but when took it out and opened it up one of the chips looked like this

Could this be why the above isn't working?

Yes the lights and wipers are controlled by the CECM. If the fuses are good sounds like your CECM is bad. Also check the fuse at the back of the radio.

Yes, that is the problem no doubt about it. You need to replace the CECM with a good used module. Hopefully, nothing else was fried.

This is another example proving the theory that all electrical/electronic parts function only with factory installed smoke inside. If the smoke gets out the parts won't work anymore.

Thanks and also does anyone know how to code a new CECM using vagcom? And does the CECM also controls the auto and auto leveling for the headlights correct?

The CECM is easily coded as needed using VCDS.

The auto leveling for the headlights is controlled by the auto leveling control module. that is also accessed with VCDS to reset the auto leveling. and adjust the headlights.
