    Hi everyone.
Starting to look for any solution to this issue.

    Bought an 07 s4 avant.
Have this current version of the Nav DVD that doesn't work.

Then I bought a new DVD from AudiNav.
To update to the most current maps. 2015

Inserted the CD. Did some buzzing.
    And came to this error

Then asked me to reinsert my original DVD

And went back to this screen.
    Still doesn't work.
I'm not sure what to do or how to solve.
    But it's killing me.

    Thanx
    -Joe

    Yes and nothing.
    No help.

But searching around. I did find I can replace the CD drive and see if that helps.

Going to take a crack at replacing the whole disc drive/laser assembly this week.

    Thanx

So I replaced the whole disc drive.
    Was pretty easy.
    Here are some pics.

Couple of screws here. Couple there.
Got the drive for $150 shipped.
    Works as good as new!!
Uploaded to new 2015 maps also

    Thanx
    -Joe

Really good to know the RNS-E's DVD drive can be replaced like that, thx for the update. What model drive did you use?

Well I don't think it was really meant to be replaced. Lol.
I'm not sure of the model. But I found a bunch on eBay and picked one up.
Took as shot as it wasn't working anyway.
