So just made a video of the process of painting all my emblems. Not the quickest of projects but Im glad I took it on, and I think it looks fantastic. Let me know if you are gonna do this and have any questions.

Thank for sharing! I love DIY walk throughs being shared like this.

Great job brother! It's nice to see people taking the DIY approach to something as simple as this.

Also great tips on how to remove the front emblems. I'll try it myself.

I purchased an OEM ring for the tail ($28) sprayed it with two coats of grey primer, three coats of brilliant black and two top coats. Took about two hours all in, with drying time between coats.

The rest of the car car is debadged.

    Love it

Nice job! Did I see all factory tabs intact on those original rings?? Bravo! BTW - That S7 front emblem comes off pretty easily. If I recall, if you were viewing as a cutaway from side, the clip looks something like this: _______\ So you would reach down under that black rubber/plastic cover up top, feel around for the emblem, and push DOWN on the tab while holding it in the front. Maybe shine a bright light down from the top and you can sort of see it. Weighs like 2 oz. so even if it falls out it won't break. Good luck!

A small tip for the rear 'S' badge:
The red is actually tape, so if you carefull you can actually take it off and after painting you can put it on again (so no need to spend time masking).

Very nice job, suits the gunmetal theme very well, Flea ;). (yes, rhcp fan too).

Topic hi-jack (sorry): I went black matte on my estoril (dark blue) S6 but added a gunmetal touche.
Haven't decided yet if i will put the S6 back on it.

Those look great, and that is a really good tip! I would be worried about the sticker tearing or not being sticky enough to go back on. I have a buddy coming over in a couple of days to do his so we may try that on his to se if it the sticker goes back on, hahaha.

Nice video. Thanks for sharing. I bought the TAG ones and still trying to figure out if I'm going to do it myself or pay someone. Funny thing is that for the RS7 it costs $200 less because the RS7 doesn't have the V8T emblems. I didn't realize that until you quoted the $800 figure - I knew I had spent less than that.

Your final result looks awesome by the way

I did this tonight. A couple days ago, before really deciding what product I was going to use I took front rings and front S6 badges off after a wash. No tabs broken when removed as described by OP, thanks Djpeaksd. I went with plasti-dip. This was my first time using the product and it was easy. My tip for keeping the red on badges is to apply 5 coats or so of the plasti dip as directed on countless youtube posts and then use an exacto knife or razor blade to remove the plasti dip from the red portions of front and rear badges about 15 minutes after last coat was applied. The edges along the red portions are not totally perfect when looking up really close, but good enough for me at this point. We'll see how the plasti-dip stands the test of time. Also if choosing to go with plasti-dip, no need to remove any of the badges. I am happy with results.
