Does the BNS share a block with other models?

Has anyone confirmed if the RS4 engine has a block that is interchangeable with other models, aside from the R8? Can an S5 or other FSI 4.2 V8 block be used to replace a damaged RS4 short block?

Someone on here was attempting to convert an r8 block for use in the rs4. Not sure if it was ever completed.

    keeping stock rs4 oil system.
r8 block is less aggressive cams, stronger timing components.
That's a very good question. Audi also did not allow me to only buy the block when I ordered my replacement, had to buy full sub assembly. Very expensive I might add
