    Check Coolant level warning

Guys back at the beginning of the month I got a warning on my dash to check coolant level with a big red thermometer on it.

So out in the car today after many miles since the last warning post and BOING! up it comes again (Got a picture this time)
    It says
SWITCH OFF ENGINE AND CHECK COOLANT LEVEL and has the red thermometer picture.

The coolant is bang on car not over heating and off it went again as quick as it arrived..
I was then sitting in my garage doing a vcds check for codes with engine off and car had been sitting as engine temp was 71 degs after I checked and BOING! up comes the warning again and then vanishes.

I even got out just to double check the level and all is well and where it is meant to be as car on the flat.

I can confirm that the fans etc do come on and off when idling and up at temp but the issue is the car thinks the coolant level is to low when it's not???

I'm thinking it has to be a sensor on the way out but which one?
I see at the bottom of the bottle it has 2 wires which I presume is the level warning?

    Anyone help?

The car is a 2012 A7 which hit 50k miles today 245bhp Quattro model.

Based on the info you provided I would replace the coolant level sensor in the coolant tank if that is possible.

After looking at the cooling system parts diagrams it would appear that you will need to replace reservoir tank P/N 4G0121403G but check with your dealer to be sure.

    Cheers.
I wasn't sure if you could just swap sensor on its own or whole bottle.
