    Great deal.

Do not go with a Gt2871r, that's old world, if a Gt2871r was a phone it would be a BlackBerry. Sure, it's works but that's old school, you wouldn't use a Pentium 4 chip for todays computer. A same size modern turbo will produce more power, sooner, hold it longer and have a broader usable powerband. Talk to Mike Hood @ Ringer Racing.

get a gtx over teh 2871... or even get a billet up grade at least for it.

If i were spending my $ again on a set up it would be EFR or bust.

After learning about EFR's that's the way I'll go once my motor is built. Once and done...

There's a complete irony with my statement though.

With "my wants" or what I'm stating is if they made a modern, more efficient, "today's version/today's tech" gt2871r elim.....we ~couldn't use it. The irony of having a better Elim is the stock motor would window the block, as it stands many believe a gt2871r elim is already pushing it and would consider rods. Granted if you added rods......you wouldn't run a small frame (as most would want to go full frame).

Right now the car is not moving by its own so first im going to figure out whats wrong with it, the previous owner said it is the clutch for sure but im not so sure since when you engage the clutch in gear the mph gose up and you can hear metalic grinding noise

Gonna drop the trans, check out the clutch and peak inside the trans

If all looks like its the clutch i will probably order stage 2 southbend clutch

Before you flush more, take the reservoir off and flush that by hand. You want to get water in it and shake it around to get any deposits out. The reservoir acts as a trap for particulate matter.

I purchased this kit. If your coolant temp sensor isn't failed I wouksnt put the one from this kit in. It is a URO coolant temp sensor and mine failed in ~16k miles. Just a heads up.

Another warning would be to keep an eye on your coolant level as the aftermarket resevoirs can be hit or miss. Mine lasted a month before springing a very small leak.

I was told the car won't move because of the broken axle and the clutch still has some life on it

I am late to the party, I was going to tell you it was the broken axle. I had the exact same thing happen to me and had the engine out before I figured the issue was the damn cv. Yay.

Unless you have a serious hard on for the B5, you might consider other alternatives. I started about where you're at and I'm already around $14,000 into the project with none of the "cool stuff" like suspension and aftermarket body stuff etc. did all the work myself even. You can get a pretty damn nice car for that kind of money down, hell, that's down payment for a house money lol

Edit: Take what I said with a grain of salt, I'm actually a bit OCD maybe and what I actually ended up doing is a near match to this thread

To give some sort of reference, I think it was around $400 to replace all the hoses and vacuum lines with silicone. Balance and blueprint, block work was around $900 and valve job was $250. Supertech makes sodium filled inconel valves, (I'll be making a thread if I drop one).. Cracked driver seat lower replacement was $450 from stealership.. Again grain of salt, I did a tad more than get it running, and I have a lot more to go before it's "done"

With an open differential the car won't move if even one cv joint is compromised. That was your issue of why car would not move, not clutch.

    Hey that's my threas! Haha.

I'm definitely not that deep into it. I also had a parts car though which helped a little bit. I don't know exactly how much I'm in but it's somewhere between 6 and 7k.

400whp? GTX30 would do that and many of the EFR, Comp, precision, turbos would make that to. but supporting mods are needed with any turbo looking to make that number. Really you need to think about more that just the number of 400hp thinks like spool and what you want to do with the car drag , autox, DD ect
