    oil pump, oil pressure

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I recently did my much needed oil check valve service and new valve cover gaskets.
after a lot of scrubbing and 16 hour days, i still have an oil pressure light

i had the oil completely drained and noticed when pulling the valley pan that oil was filled up and puddles where the oil spray valve and upper(farthest back) oil check valve sit.

im not entirely how or where the pump and pickup manifold sit underneath. would be nice if someone could provide/link a diy for the oil pump job so i could take a look

    parts replaced:
    oil check valves
    oil spray valve
    crankcase vent valve
    crankcase seal
    valley pan gasket
All three filters except >(not sure what the small triangular filter at the back up the front intake part is called)
    valve cover gaskets
    spark plugs
    oil pressure switch

Also if someone could chime in on my red cooling system light(sorry to pack it all into one post)
car seems to run fairly hot but the temp/vag401 reads normal temp
ie. everything under the hood is hot, EVERYTHING. resivor is really hot even
-coolant is filled all the way

Check your oil pressure switch. Its on the back of the oil filter housing. I don't see it in your list so i'm assuming it hasn't been inspected yet.

Ah if that's the case I'd recommend seeing if you can put a gauge to measure actual oil pressure and double check the connector to make sure the pin is nice and tight.

any advice on how to go about it? The last time i couldn't get a proper seal as there hardly any space, Gave up after 2 hours of frustrating 1/4 turns of a wrench
