    2014 S4 transmission fill

I replaced the radiator on my 14 S4 automatic and lost a decent amount of trans fluid. It is causing it to shift weird. Is there a way that I can top it off without going to the dealer? The told me on the phone it would be $200 plus fluid costs to fill it. Thanks for your help.

You replaced the radiator but lost tranny fluid? How does one do that? You can buy your own fluid and top it off yourself.

Theres a thread for these types of questions

Yeah, this one's a bit confusing... (please go into further detail) lol Good thing the blinker fluid is still OK though. ;)

There is a transmission cooler in the right side tank of the radiator. So when I unhooked those lines I lost some fluid plus what was in the cooler itself.

How do I simply top it off? Dealer said it had to be done with a scan tool.

All of the searches I have done are for older cars or manual transmissions. I haven't found a how to on trans fluid changes or fills for a B8.5.

Open fill plug. Add some. Run it to 30-50°C and let it dribble out fill hole and cap it up

Thank you, that is what I was thinking but I wasn't sure after what the dealer told me.

It's very simple. I just serviced my dsg last week. My launch scanner was on the fritz so I just used an infrared temp gun on the fluid dripping out.
