Is there a Timing chain write up / diy?

    Hello,

I am getting ready to pull the motor for service. I plan on doing the timing while in there.

i remember reading a DIY or something similar a few weeks back but I can't find it now... anyone have something? Just want to make sure I am not forgetting anything.

    Thanks,

@Allowencer put together a great thread for the B8 section; maybe this is what you saw?

The only online writeup I know of is the one for the engine pull, but it doesn't get into anything that is done after the motor is out. You can use the elsa or bentley manual for that

Here's part of it that 2004b6S4 linked to my post. I believe switching out guides and tensioners are unbolt and replace

Yep. There are a few threads out there if you search on what to expect at different points during the timing stuff, but no comprehensive write up for it. The Bentley does a decent job of it. I would recommend getting that (or elsa) at a minimum along with that engine pull guide.
