    Help with replacing part in mirror A7 / S7 / RS7

I need to replace the outer signal lamp housing shown in orange as part 6 in this diagram.

Question: How you do take apart the mirror housing to replace that part without damaging the mirror housing and/or paint?

You need remove glass first - check YouTube there is video about it. Then few screws and after you remove cover 5 you will be ready. There is a small risk of scratches so use wall painting tape to cover edges.

to remove the glass is pretty easy, no need to play with it.. I just extorted it with a plastic stick, and then as awo said, just a couple of screws and You are done.. however, after I changed mine, the mirror folding when in R does not work anymore :D .. the mirror is not in the middle, so when it tries to fold down to have a better view of the curb, its actually pushing to the housing .. not sure why, I have disassembled it a couple of times and all fits well, but still, the mirror is not in the middle of the housing, its rather a bit lower which is causing the mirror to touch the housing. I guess I will have to play with it a bit more..

I believe you have to remove the mirror cover to replace that.
I posted step by step procedure on how to remove mirror before, you can search for it, that was for A7 but 7 should be the same procedure.

Thanks I saw your step by step, I only wish it showed taking off the mirror :) Seriously it is very helpful though, I'm going to review it again.

awo where is the you tube video of taking the mirror off. I looked but could only find an A4 mirror video on a 2001. Mind sharing the link?
