I made another how to video on wrapping your steering wheel with 5D Carbon Fiber Vinyl.

What do you guys think about videos that are 20 minutes long? is it just too much?

Nice video- you've inspired me to try wrapping the trim in my rover.

20 min is a bit long but at least it's complete. I actually watched the whole thing and think it's better having everything there and sped up as opposed to cutting parts out.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Thanks for the feedback. I probably won't be making another video where it's my first-ish attempt though. I think I can easily keep the video down to under 7 minutes if I were to redo it. Oh well, learn something new.

Looks nice. Where did you get the 5D? I used 3m dinoc awhile back which worked great, but recently tried some 4d off ebay and it sucked. Stuff started to peel the next day.

Also be careful not to cut the stitching when cutting on the steering wheel, I did that on my shift knob and the leather started coming off :/

I think the seam would drive me crazy when driving. I have a OEM carbon fiber wheel on my Macan and it gets uncomfortable even with one spec of anything on it.

I posted amazon links to everything I used in the description section of the video.

That's a very good point about cutting the stitching. I wish I would've made a point to mention that in the video.

I think the length is fine. For a DIY video, I want something that is as detailed as possible and this would fit the bill. Good job.

Would it be easier to remove the steering wheel to wrap it?

I took a look at the steering wheel today after reading your comment. After looking closer I think the bottom part could be done a lot better if I can remove the airbag and plastic trim.

I'll try working on it later. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks a ton! I didn't do a video on how to do the trim. I figured it was an easy job and didn't warrant a video, but surprisingly people are asking...

    I have an a6.
