C5 A6 2000 (moderate condition)

Hi 'ziners,

I'm parting out my 2000 A6 C5 I recently bought as a donor car for my V8 Swap into my B5.

This car had the ART 4.2 V8 in it, but that part's mine! All other parts are for sale.

I would post what parts I have available, but that's pretty much all of them. I think it would be better if I update this first post to list what I DON"T have.
As the title says, the car -inside and out- is in moderate condition. Some parts are just perfect, others I will consider scrapping or junking rather than selling.
Because of this, I will post pics as requested. I can instant message or email several very detailed images upon request also. I'd like to make some money back from my swap project, but I will be very fair with prices

Here's an older pic of the car. Basically in the same condition minus the engine.:

The front left fender is beat up, the driver (left) door mold is gone, and the front bumper is beat to heck. Left rear door's mid-bumper trim has pulled back from the front a bit.
The ZF transmission was pulling great the three days I drove it before I started tearing into it. I noticed no slips, grinding, or other weird noises. Seemed to still be in great shape.
The car came with the summer package (solar sunroof, rear telescoping sun visor, and rear door sun visors), and winter package (heated seats and that silly ski-bag builtin to the rear center armrest)

O, I should also mention I have the 2.8 V6 AHA engine that came out of the A4. It has 291k miles on it, but things like intake manifold, ECM, and other parts off of it could be useful.

Are you just wanting the AC Condenser (radiator)? Or do you want the AC fan? I'm not sure what you mean by assembly, you'll have to be more specific.

By front support, are you speaking of the metal crossmember that attaches behind the plastic/fiber radiator support? Or do you mean the whole radiator and headlight support (the whole large plastic/fiber support)?

Ouch, those threads look pretty gnarly. I'm having a bit of a lapse in the anatomy of the condenser/radiator and that pipe. I can't remember if that pipe is part of (welded onto) the condenser, or if the pipe can be separated. If the pipe can be separated, you just want the pipe, or do you still need the condenser?

For the bumper, of course it will have to be painted to match, but I'll have to take some pics of the bumper first to see if it's acceptable for you. If I remember correctly though, I think the bottom of the bumper had a piece missing. I'll check and report back.

All shipping would be from 47201 Columbus Indiana. Depending on what ships out, I may have to run around for an appropriately sized box
We could probably get an estimate on shipping once we figure out what all can be boxed together to save on the number of packages, call FedEx, UPS, etc. with dimensions and weight and have them quote shipping.

The lamp housings look ooookaaayy.. Some normal pitting for a 16 year old plastic lamp. Still pretty clear. Dont think bulbs worked tho. I had to use the one workimg fog light to make it home one night. Things I should've checked before staying out late with a new unknown car lol.

Sorry it took me so long to get back..

So the lamp housings look a little better than I thought. Not new, but better. There really wasn't a ton of pitting from sand and muck over the years like my B5 lamps have. They were mainly just fogged -a bit yellowed. I took a pick of the lamp before, and after I did a quick headlamp restore (wetsand and polishing compound). The turn signal bulb's amber coating flaked off, so that crap is all over the inside of the lamp though. Perhaps it can be air blasted out to avoid opening the lamp.

It just dawned on me that I didn't take any pics of the right (us passenger) side headlamp! -I'll take some pics of that one tonight and post up.

For the bumper.. I was thinking I remembered the bottom was muffed up... I was right:

And another thought came to me this morning... it did look like the bumper separates, top and bottom half. If it separates, I will take more pics of the top half, which you need, and which I think is still in good shape.

The radiator support of course is in great shape. I'll have to start disassembling it and prepping it for shipping.

How does $80 for the radiator support, and $35 per headlamp ($70 for both) sound? (pending pics of the other headlamp, if you need that one)
For the bumper, again we'll see if it comes apart, and if the top half is all you might need, and how good of shape it looks. More pics to come on that one..

Ill clean up the right headlamp tomorrow and post a couple pics of that. It is just the standard ol' halogen though. Not sure if stuff swaps over if thats what you have now.. Guess I should ask if you're interested in it since its just the halogen.
I'll take pics of the radiator support though. Id hate committing to buying something myself without a good idea of how the thing looks..
Fender liner should be good.. Ill have a look tomorrow. Id say sure, square deal, but it looks like were still stackin up parts, wheelin and dealin.

Figures I would start with the headlight you don't need first!
Here's the right headlight, before a quick restoration, then after. I did see a couple of small dings. Nothing huge, or maybe even noticeable, but I'll try to point them out..:

The last pic shows that although it is much clearer, there is still some teeny tiny pits allover. Probably not getting rid of that, but still looks pretty good after clearing them up.

This one's turn signal lamp has not flaked off the amber film, so it looks a lot better than the other one.

Not sure what headlight washer you're referring to. You mean this one?:

Looks like the A/C lines are part of the A/C condenser. I was having a hard time remembering.

You're saying the condenser threads are actually fine, and it's the threads from the hose fitting that are left behind in your pic, right?

I think that's all for right now. Radiator support looks good. The headlamp is ok. I will do some more work on it before i put it in. A/C condenser is also ok I'll take it. The fender liner looks ok to me, I don't think that's too big of a crack. I think i can fix that. Looks like 6-7"? Quote me on that too. The headlamp washers i was talking about are the ones on your bumper that pop out to clean your headlamp. I'll post a pic of mine. Price on the radiator support, right headlamp and A/C condenser is ok. $160. Let me know what you would charge for the liner with the crack and the headlamp washers if you have them

This is what that pump looks like, you'll see 2 of them behind your bumper cover if your car had headlamp washers, which i believe it did.

You mentioned you needed the A/C line though, as that's the one where your threads were pulled from. Which line was it? Is it the shorter one, with the larger fitting, that goes directly to the compressor?

Sounds like you said only the line's threads were screwed up and I think you said your condenser was fine.. but just to clarify, you're saying you still want the condenser then? The condenser and the line that's damaged?

I couldn't charge you anything for the fender liner being cracked. In my mind this was just junk. If you are ok fixing it or getting by with it more power to you. I'll just throw this in the box with the rest.

For the right headlight washer, how's $10, providing acceptable pics? I'll include the cap/cover.

Here's the front fender. Some scratches up toward the front, and around the lip of the wheel well, there are some dings, and in a couple spots some dings/gouges that removed paint, and is down to the metal it looks like. Not sure if you would still want this and fill it in and make it nice, or if you're looking for something pristine.
I forgot to check the sticker in the spare tire well. If you still need confirmation I can take a pic of that tonight.

So after a hot and draining weekend, I thought I would try to remove the fender and liner. Popped my T30 torx on my ratchet last night, gave it a tug with just one wrist, and pop... goes my T30 torx bit.

I think there's a Craftsman guy here at work today, he might replace it for me.
I'm looking for boxes big enough to ship this stuff. It's getting tough to find something so big. I might have to take a few different sized boxes home and craft my own.. If I can't make that work out, there's Columbus Container, a cardboard box factory... Maybe I can waltz in there and get a deal.
Once I have boxes, I'll be able to quote shipping.

Audi4.2: it looks like the hose you stipped the threads off of was the larger fitting, shorter hose that goes from the condenser to the compressor. I studied your earlier picture and was able to identify which port you took a pic of. What do you say to $20?
