Hi guys, I'm Jon.
I'm a new to Audi, and will be sharing my issues and fixes related to this mess I just got myself into 😃
I'm a newbie, but I did my best to research what I'm dealing with, and hopefully to start, I'm at least in the correct sub-forum?
I bought my brother's 2007 A4 Quattro 2.0t Cabriolet. It had a blown engine from a bad timing belt. My friend owns a junkyard and procured a replacement engine for me
( actually 3, before they got a "good" one) I'm limited on funds, so I'm doing everything I can to save money, so I'm trying to avoid replacing parts to "see" if it fixes the issue, if possible.
$3000 later, and I have a replacement engine with a new timing belt, pulleys and tensioner.
I wasn't involved in the engine selection, because I had no idea about these Audi's until the issues arose .
It's a BWT engine. I'm hoping this is a good thing, or at least correct.
So the issues are these:
Error codes I have at the moment are:
P0087, 0087, 0100, 008A.
One or more of these are related to the current status, which I will update after I get a chance to work on it tonight.
I have the fuse pulled from the lpfp because I was checking the follower, which appears good at the moment very slightly worn black coating, no indentation.
Also the P0100 may be because the repair shop pulled the connector off the Maf to allow the car to run, so I could drive it home. If the Maf is connected it stalls. Otherwise it drives, but has no oomph, but will make it to freeway speeds.
I cleaned the Maf, but I was hoping someone knew the expected reading on the 3 wires going to the Maf, and the readings expected on the Maf, connected and not.
At this point I believe the real issue to be the low fuel pressure sensor located on the hpfp.
I have replaced the fuel filter also. I apologise for the length of my first post, but I'm trying to be thorough. I'm sure I've left out info that's needed though. Thanks for hosting this site, I've learned a lot, and hope to learn more
Jon
