Over the years all of us at ABT Sportline have been extremely fortunate to work with enthusiasts from around the world. As enthusiasts ourselves, we know how fun modifying your car can be and our goal has always been to maintain that enthusiasm through the entire process. Our customer and good friend from Michigan reached out to us in early February this year with a request to build one of the most unique Audi R8s there are to date. The overall theme of this R8 project was focused on replicating the ABT R8 GTS that was displayed a few years back at the Geneva Motor Show.
The wheels we used for this project were the ABT BR wheels (20x9 et 40 and 20x11 et45) which originally came in silver but were powder coated black with the red pin striping. Tires were provided by our good friends from Toyo. We went with the Toyo Proxes T1R in 245/30/20 and 305/25/20. The R8 was also lowered by 25mm via the ABT R8 lowering springs. The R8 was given an ABT rear muffler which has a visual and acoustic delight thanks to its complex development work and the double-walled, stainless steel design. Interior was completely redone in custom leather with ABT stitching, red carbon fiber and to finish things off we added a pair of ABT entrance lights. As for the exterior, this R8 was fitted with an ABT carbon fiber rear bumper, carbon fiber sideskirts, carbon fiber front bumper and carbon fiber rear wing. To finish things off... the R8 was wrapped in red chrome by our friends over at SD wraps in sunny San Diego.
