    S3 Rear Strut TSB?

    Hi all.

    I seem to remember reading about an S3 TSB in relation to the rear struts. Mine has made clunking noise since new and is not like the other S3's I've driven. Fellow owner agrees does not sound normal. I'm getting my first service tomorrow and would love to be armed with the correct TSB # in the event I get the standard "it's normal" or "they all do that".

    Well not all of you do given the countess times on different cars where initial complaints were met by "Its normal". There's a lot of lazy shops out there.

    TSB 204264/4 - 42 Rear Shock Mounting Noises

    • Customer may report hearing rumbling noises from the rear of the vehicle when driving on very
    uneven roads or over potholes.
    • This bulletin only applies to S3 vehicles with Audi magnetic ride.

    Thanks for posting up the TSB info! I was searching the other day. I do not have a problem with my car right now, but I always like having TSB's ready and on hand just in case.

    Some of the threads I have read had mix reviews regarding the resolving of this TSB. Im having my car service tomorrow and they'll be addressing this concern as well.

    Just wanted to ask, is the clunking sound seem like something is bottoming out or hitting whenever you go over say a speed bump or uneven road surfaces? I noticed it is not a smooth sound when going over speed bumps in my new s3 that I just picked up early last week. Will the TSB address this problem?

    Rear strut TSB completed. 99% better.

    Still some minor thumps on bridge joints and hard jolts.

    So everything was going great with the update until last night I got a suspension light on my dashboard. Took it in yesterday, they have order a whole new shock due to faulty wiring, sounds like BS to me and more like a bad install
