Alright guys,
My 03 RS6's turbo (drivers side) encountered a "metal obstruction" after my mechanic worked on the car. Whatever fell down the intake tube bounced between the turbo and the intercooler and shaved up my turbo. The turbo (actually both) have at this point been fully rebuilt by Scroll, and I am now attempting to figure out what to do with the intercooler (drivers side). It appears as it did a good job at keeping all the metal particles filtered in it from entering the intake pipe and going into the manifold. We did a pretty thorough inspection and did not notice anything in there. You can see a pretty large amount of shavings at the intake side of the intercooler. Would flushing it out with water be good enough? I wanted to get it sonic cleaned - however, the place in the area closed and I haven't had any luck finding any other place that does the same work.
Look forward to everyone's thoughts. Don't want to but anything back in the car that has a potential of causing any damage. I am not however sure on what is the intercoolers internal construction and whether any of the metal particles could be stuck in "fine metal mesh".
Thanks,
Paul
