Somehow while doing everything I had to do to replace head gaskets, my timing is off. When the crankshaft is at TDC the camshaft sprocket is off. How do I even is up?

When I did my timing belt a couple years ago the same thing happened to me, they would be lined up and once the tension was on the timing would go out of spec. took me a couple of times before I got it lined up!

Roll the crank back some before you tensioner the belt.

Yup. I did my TB and WP a few months ago and I experienced the same thing. I had to align the timing marks three time in total to make it stick. Good thing I manually turned the crank a full rotation before I buttoned everything back up or I wouldn't have noticed it.
