I went with the red footwells as well, to match all the instrument lighting and my magma interior. Just installed over weekend and loving it so far. Yeah, the rears were a bitch! I broke a small corner on one of the lenses. It's hidden under seat, so no biggie. Also installed the LED strip for the trunk. Wow! Never thought I'd need that much lighting back there, but it's probably the best <$40 mod I've done on the car!

Do you have a led bulb for our trunk space? Tried using a dew different ones so far to no avail. Its interesting as its the same housing as the glove box and puddle lights, which do work with leds ive tried. Maybe a different voltage/wattage?

Yes, that is correct, we test our LEDs in each area so it doesn't pop a fuse and it works, your question is a common email we receive.

Honestly, it isn't always as easy as typing in 194/921 wedge on amazon/ebay - a lot goes into LEDs in each area of your car: beam angle, watts, voltage, size etc.

If you look at our complete interior LED kits you will see each LED is different, even though it is the same bulb base they do not look the same - each one has a different beam angle and setting depending where it will be installed in your car.

We currently don't have one for the Q3 but would like to create one, would you be interested in helping us with this?

We have a brighter stage 2 that is a 360 style - the wafer style is brighter but this new LED technology works better as it reflects in the housing and points light outwards at the same time.

If you want the wafer we have the setup also but the 360 stage 2 is a lot brighter - here it is in the puddle housing:

Sorry for not being clear, 100% yes these work with no issues in your trunk housing. We are not sure what LEDs you are using but this is why we say the same pitch - we see it too often and people normally do not know that LEDs can have many different settings and why some don't work in your trunk but in your puddle etc.

We do honestly apologize for repeating ourselves but we try to inform and mention it anytime we can due to this reason, we feel better if we are able to save people time and effort.

Thanks for the question and adding to this thread as we feel others might have similar questions.

We currently don't share any information on our LEDs as we test and pay to create these to our specs.

For a photo - we have this DIY/review that shows them from a customer but currently cannot find it - the LED end is round - it has LEDs on sides and on top - it is still brighter than the wafer style you posted with all LEDs facing down due to the new LED technology being used.

We hope this helps as we would really like seeing these in your R8 - it is a great looking car.

And we have sold a few R8 kits if you are looking to match throughout your car - we know you said you don't need them but just a suggestion :)

We have the 4 or 6 LED setup but feel the one we are suggesting here is the best option for the Audi Trunk housing/setup and what was tested in all Audi models to have the best light output, it only has good feedback from zine customers.

If you want the wafer LEDs facing outwards we can get you that also - you can place the order and email us letting the warehouse know and they will switch it out with the footwell model - seen here (second photo in listing has the photo):

Maybe it is something we should have asked first, but what is the reason why you want the wafer design or what are you looking to achieve with this trunk LED? Maybe we can help you better here as we honestly don't know the reasoning to wanting ONLY the wafer design facing outwards if the other design we have creates more light from our testing unless you want less light in your trunk?

Yes, that is the stage I we used in the trunk and has worked with no issues in all Audi models including the R8 (we have both LED models in the r8) - but like we said (hope we are not repeating ourselves) - we currently sell the Stage 2 in the universal trunk listing due to popular demand.

And yes it is 100% returnable with no restocking or shipping fees deducted if you do have issues.

So I received the set of 4 wafers last night. Easy install per usual, and the glove and both puddle lights work, but still, the Trunk will not light with the LEds. This is the 3rd brand now, and I'm unfortunately going to have to return the set. What is the best way to go about that?

We are really sorry to hear this, we can honestly post this on a public forum that this is the first and only time we ever seen this problem with our LED and first return with our wafer LEDs. We sent an email, you can return all 4 or we can refund the 1 that isn't working and you can keep the other 3, or we would really like to see if a few other models we have might work for you - we don't feel it would hurt to try, we have these installed as the Stage 2 LED option in many puddle and trunk LEDs in the Audi.

out of curiosity, once you put in the LED and It didn't work, did your stock ones work? im asking because I had a set of LED that I tried on my trunk, threw it on, it worked for a min and stopped. put my stock ones back on, and its still not working. didn't blow a fuse either as all my other lights work and no fuses were blown.

for me, after the LED stopped working, I threw my glass, stock halogen bulbs back on and it didn't work. its not a fuse either because I checked it all, and all the other lights work perfectly. my only other guess is maybe the wire harness/plug itself is broken/sorted

its a 2009 audi r8. it was a wedge type bulb I had purchase from my old car ( I had like 10 of them ).
