Rain\Light Sensor and Aircon Module acting up

    Hi Guys,

Having two issues, I don't know if they are related or not.

    1) Started about a month ago, if my car is cold (Which it currently is in South Africa) when I switch my car on in the morning when it is still dark, my headlights come on, I get the orange error showing the auto lights thingy is defective, my cluster needles light up but not the dials themselves, if I switch my headlights on (from auto), the error goes away and everything works as expected, once the car warms up, it is then fine, or if the car has been standing in the sun it's fine. Is this a sign of the sensor going? What is the actual part I need to replace?

    2) 2 weeks ago, I switched my car on, switched my demister on, it fired up and started demisting, however there were no indications on the actual air-con control panel what was happening, the temperature LCD's were off, the orange light indicating demisting is on was not on and the whole center console had lights on, however it was much duller than usual. I switched the car off and on again and it was fine again, it has done this 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

That's all controlled in the central electrics module. If you didn't live on the other side of the planet I'd let you borrow a spare I have. Do you have access to a VCDS to see what errors are in that module?

Can't remember the measuring block, but you can watch the signal from the rain sensor go up and down as you spray mist on it and wipe it back off.
