3.0 AVK Water Pump Options (pics) [Contitech]

In the throes of a new radiator, I entered into the timing cover for the second time. This time around, I purchased a kit from Conititech that includes all the rollers and a water pump, but this water pump is markedly different than the previous two OEM. Looking for opinions:

The water pump on the right is Audi. The water pump on the left is from Contitech. The immediate thing I noticed is the impeller. It sits higher and clearly has a stamped (vs cast) impeller.

Next, I notice the mating surface. The Audi is a honed face, while the Contitech is a cast face. This is an equally concerning difference.

Both of these make me think the Contitech kit contains less than desirable components. Does anyone have experience with this water pump, or moreover, this kit?

I just did my timing belt with a Contitech kit. Its been 5000+ miles. So far all good!

Cool, thanks! I don't know if I should be concerned about that cast finish on the gasket surface? I don't think there's any way for me to mill the casting off without making it wavy.
