    main bolt & rod cap bolt socket size?

    im in the process of tearing down my short and just realized that i dont have any interal torx sockets. what sizes do i need for the main and rod caps?

    10 or 12 from what i remember
    2001 Audi S4 Manual - Nogaro Blue/black - Full AWE stg 3 kit w/ manifolds,h&r coilovers,jhm trans rebuild,UUC VM3 exhaust , 2.5" dp's - Needs Love - Got some love now 442awhp and 512 awtq
    2004 Audi S4 Avant manual - Silver/black - 2.7 swapped ,k24's and srm side mounts

    they're called external torx.

    its an e12 for the rods and an e14 for the mains

    I got mine from Sears, but if you're desperate I noticed some at Home Depot.

    FWIW, it's often cheaper in the log run to buy a small set of Torx sockets/drivers if you can and then you'll have them for other fasteners that require a different size socket/driver. When sold individually the prices are often substantially more and when you need a different size you need to order them or run to the auto parts store to buy them which can be a PITA when you need to do a quick repair.
