    Tire width question.

Just picked up an 05 225 Quattro. I found a set of 18X10 et 25 wheels that I like. My question is what size tire would give the wheel enough protection and not rub. I'm not knocking it but I'm just not a fan of the "stretched" look.

I've read that 255 40 18's should work... Anyone have pics of wheel/tire combos near that size?

Did you ever get a response? Has anyone had success with wider tires/wheels in 18 inch?
I was hoping to get 245s or 255s.

wider wheels can be done for sure. You have a ton of room to work with. I'll be putting on a set of 18x9 wheels tomorrow. I'll try and post some pictures for you.

    Thanks!
I often wonder if the TT Mk1 drivers are still active.
Mine is not a daily driver, but occasional street and track use. This week I managed to get the car of the jack stands after replacing brakes, and installing some coilovers. Prior to this refurbishment, I managed to get the car over to ButtonWillow raceway for a fun day, and the car did great without any other mechanical issues. I want wider tires, but I don't want any issues on tight turns.

Any idea why the Mk2 started using a larger hub dimension; 5x100 vs 5x112?
