Moving on...Officially This Time

Gentlemen (and women),

It's come to the point in ownership where I OFFICALLY decided to move on from the S4. No, I'm not going to tell you what I am going to get, due to the fact that it is nothing like an S4 at all, or even a car for that matter. Due to a growing need for a tow rig, I will be selling my S4 for a truck. Yes, you all can start roasting me for getting a truck or as I often here around this forum even "You always say you're getting something new, but never do". Well, this is actually happening.

Since I made the purchase of a Can-Am Side-by-Side, I was constantly renting U-hauls or borrowing buddies trucks to tow it places. Not only that, but with the gnarly winters we get here in PA, being as low as I am would not prove well. I know it could handle it, and have seen it done, but I'd rather not be "snow plowing" snow with my bumper. So with this, I urge all of you to keep your eye out on the classifieds to see if there is anything you would like to purchase as your next mod. I will not be removing the coil overs, sway bars, cooling system or exhaust...but the rest is fair game (besides the P3, that's been sold locally to a fellow member here). The part you all are asking yourself is "How much did they give you for your car?", and I will say it was a battle to get it higher. Initially they offered me $40-41K (Car only has 6700 miles)...but I managed to work them up to $44.5K if I was willing to return it to stock (mostly).

I was fine with this, as my pay off on the car was only $30k at this point. Sure, I'm losing a fair amount of money in the long run, but parting out the car will make up some of the money lost. As my car sits now, it looks very sad in it's mostly stock state. She will be missed. So again, keep your eye out for a "part out" thread in the classifieds!! Any questions, comments, or general opinions...you know what to do. Keep the flame-fest to a minimum, please haha.

I moved on to a loaded fx4 Ecoboost couple years ago. Good truck, responded well to tune, radio sucks

sorry to hear you part from your S4. i was in a f150 for 5 years before getting back to audi. used the bed maybe 3 times to move some stuff for friends and myself. I've had the audi since January and have needed to borrow friend's trucks like a dozen times already. haha. hope you find your way back one day.

Haha funny how that works like that...I will return someday, but until then, I have other fun toys to mess around with. I'll miss the Audi life and this forum, but I will check in frequently.

Not a big deal man. Life changes. I did the same things. I sold my B7 S4 and took the equity in the car and bought a ford explorer and a boat. i just took all the equity i had in the car bought the boat cash and took a loan out on the explorer and had the same payment and only extended the loan by 6 months. And I had a few grand extra to buy hobby stuffs lol. But i came back to fun cars with the B8.5 when i sold my boat.

I've thought about taking over my wife's Mercedes GLK350 (has AMG appearance package and is all wheel drive) so that she can get something bigger. I have dreams of taking it camping (former 4-time jeep owner and a land rover in there somewhere). i could put a hitch on it and buy that catamaran sailboat i've been wanting, and it's still fun-ish on the road. then i drive my car again............

I know that feeling when you jump back in the S and not want to sell it...but I had to resist the temptation to keep it. It's not like I don't have fun cars to drive, I just need something a bit more "practical" for my needs right now.

oh yea, with your list, i wouldn't even think about keeping your s4. i'd be towing a porsche to VIR every weekend. then towing my catamaran to the beach behind the macan

I was going to say. I don't know if i would tow a catamaran with a macan. But since you already tow it with your macan, Im guessing its not that big and only like a 2-3 person little one.

I hated seeing them on the road I think it took away from the enjoyment of twistes on a motorcycle

OHHH lol, I was talking about a side-by-side (Maverick XXC 1000R)...not the Can-Am Spyder. I would never own one of these!
