Feeler/advice needed on a B7 with probably a blown turbo.

About 10 days ago, huge plum of smoke from the exhaust whenever I got into boost. I am sure oil is getting dumped into the turbo, hence I lost a quart of oil in no time.

I am 99% sure its a blown turbo.
I have decided not to keep the car anymore.

Shall I try and purchase a used turbo and put it on and sell it or may be someone is willing to go BT locally.
I don't have time and garage. So, trying to weigh my options.

Car: 2005.5 A4 quattro 2.0T Tiptronic non S-line.
97k miles
Ocean blue metallic exterior, beige interior.
In good shape, with a couple of scuffs that comes with 10 years old car.
Timing belt service done at 85k
New brakes, wheels, tires all within last year(within last 15k miles).
Cold weather package with rear heated seats.
Memory seats retrofitted.
Xenons retrofitted.
I had a lot of plans for it, but I am short on time and want to put less time on it.

I am thinking a price of 6.5k as is, or 7.5k if I put a turbo in?
Called a couple of places and got a stupid quotes of 2k+ for turbo installation.
Any advice? I know, putting a turbo in and making it running will open it to a larger market. May be someone is planning to go big turbo in a lower mileage A4?
Or may be someone local has a lead on used K03?

I'd but he sold his own B7 because of lack of time. May be I'd just ask him to confirm that it indeed is the turbo and get some tips on how to change it. Half a ZJ may be. May be he has a spare turbo stashed in his garage.

Other news, I got a e92 328xi as a replacement today. I am so much enjoying getting back on the inline 6. I specifically didn't go for 335 because of this turbo incident lol.

Damn dude, sorry to hear about the B7. That blue seems pretty rare and is gorgeous. I know you're a Beemer fan, so enjoy the new ride, but don't let 1 turbo issue scare you off from that setup, especially here at altitude. Swapping a turbo can be done in a day I'm sure, and would probably be your best option for getting your car sold. Whatever way you decide to go, good luck with it.

Thanks for everyone's voice of confidence. I'm certainly looking for a used turbo. I don't think Martin would want to buy it since he sold his b7 because of lack of time.

Hey man, that does suck. I would confirm first that it's not a pcv issue. If you have a blocked pcv it can side overpressurization of the crank case and push oil out the turbo's piston seals.

However if it is the turbo I can replace it, these days I've got all the time in the world.

Thanks for the offer mec. This happened the next day after I installed new pcv and breather hose. I put the old one back. Still the same. Tried to remove the valve cover and see if the inside is cracked, but couldn't even move it.
I might just drive it to your place just to confirm its the turbo. I won't have you do all the labor man. I think I can do it myself, but may need tips to get it done fast. I will bring all the beer if we can get it done in a day. Now to look for a used turbo.

New job is the insects ligaments. I can afford to live comfortably and have more time on my hands than I know what to do with.
