Don't give up on it.. I fought with mine on the passenger side for 2 days.. but finally got it out.. what I did, I heated up the bolt nice and hot, then quenched it with some water, sprayed everything I could find on it, wd40 liquid wrench, kroil, and PB blaster and let it sit over night.. then the next morning, I drilled a #7 hole for a 1/4-20 tap, and tapped the hole. On the other side, I cut off part of the threads with a cutoff wheel to shorten up the length, then started putting washers behind the nut, one washer in the gap for the pinch bolt, and put a bolt in the hole I just tapped, and start working it that way.. tighten the nut a bit, and beat on the bolt a bit.. back and forth...

It's like a right of passage getting that damn bolt out...lol don't give up on it

Or could I just theoretically heat it up and beat the bolt out with a punch? I assumed there was threads in there. I wanted to grab a new knuckle just for the fact I didn't wanna spend two days playing with a frozen bolt

No, no threads in side the hole.. it's a smooth shank bolt.. only has threads on the last inch maybe.. another thing, when your trying to get that bolt out, make sure there is some pressure on the suspension, because if it's just hanging free, the upper control arms will put pressure on the bolt, and it'll make it tighter, and she'll never budge.. i.put a jack under the lower ball joint and jacked up the suspension a few inches

Best of luck getting that bolt out. I had one get stuck and know what you're dealing with.

In the event you don't get it out I have a driver's side knuckle I bought on eBay a year ago when I was thinking about doing my own big brake kit. Plans fizzled out and I've had this thing sitting in a box ever since. It included the wheel bearing and sensors but I can't guarantee they all work as I never ran it. I'd imagine you're in a hurry but me being in Colorado and most businesses shut down on the 4th means you'd be lucky to have it by end of the week. Let me know!

Sorry it's been a busy weekend, ended up getting it out by drilling it after about 11 hours, didn't get to check the condition of the knuckle since I was in a hurry to get to work, I should know tomorrow, couldn't get the passenger side to move so I'm thinking just to pick up a passenger side as well

This thing has been a nightmare, 11 hours later it came out, tried pretty much everything I could. Not sure if the knuckle is even usable at this point, passenger side is just as bad.

as long as it's not broken, your good.. just clean out the hole and put it back together.. just check for cracks, mine actually broke after putting back in service.

I've still got both sides, dirty from sitting under the car for a few months, but I can get them cleaned up. PM me if you're interested.

I somehow ended up finding a set in the local junkyard, or I would have grabbed them off you, thanks for being quick to help.

I'll be sure to lube them up with the new hardware, I'm pretty sure the previous owner had not changed the arms in 100k miles, was a complete bummer as I was trying to get my coilovers on as well.

I ended up getting a set at the local junkyard, i applied some heat to it so I figured better safe than sorry. I've never encountered a bolt that seized on any car I've ever worked on.

crazy shit, isn't it? I had mine all back together, then a few days later, I start hearing a clicking noise every time I turn the wheel... so i jack up one side, and there it was plain as day.. clean break straight through where the head of the bolt sits.. I check the other side to be safe, and it had already fractured and started to crack.... I guess the point I'm trying to make is aluminium isn't as forgiving as everyone thinks...I would go back in a few days and just double check everything and make sure that area is ok... just my 2 cents..

glad you got it sorted tho..
