Hey guys. If anyone has any info that would be great. I have a 2007 a4 s line 6spd. I drove to tahoe from monterey yesterday with no issues, and today I drove to the gas station and everything was fine. After getting gas for a boat, I started my car and it started bouncing from 1500 rpm down to 800, back and forth every few seconds. When I put it into gear it immediately died. While I ran into autozone to see if I can borrow a scanner, my buddy tried getting it running. He said the key was spinning all the way around in the ignition. He started messing around with buttons and flipped the headlights and it started. He built the rpms to 2000, then it dropped to 1000 and idles fine. No it won't build any boost and it sounds like I'm just releasing all the pressure. My first thought was a DV but I'm getting no engine light. I have to drive home tomorrow for work. If anyone has an idea what I can do that would be very helpful.for more info, the car has 128 thousand miles on the body, and about 50 thousand on a new motor from audi. Thank you

Sounds like an IC hose came loose. The key spinning in the lock cylinder is a separate issue.

My thought on both issues. Sounds like a big boost leak. Take a good look at all boost hoses and their clamps.

+1, exactly what mine did when my IC piping popped off my throttle body. Luckily it wasn't one of the hoses on the IC itself, didn't want to take the bumper off again.

Check all connections OP, try unplugging the MAF if you can't find the leak, that should default to canned maps and possibly let you baby it home if you have no other choice.

Check your PCV valve they tend to leak cheep fix. They also sell a delete plate for it to guarantee no leaking into the crank case.

What mods do you have. Maybe something popped off the intake manifold.
