    OBD2 scanner and timing advance

Ok so please excuse me and try to explain like I am a 5 year old hahaha. I am a total noob at tuning cars, data logging and knowing what to look for.

So I just got an OBD2 scanner and torque pro app. Seems really cool and fun. What I am trying to do besides running 0-60, 1/8 mile times etc. is also see if the piggyback I am running is negatively effecting my car. So after a little research it seems I want to log timing advance and revs right?

So If i log a WOT run with Rpms and timing advance will that log show me what I am looking for and could you guys look at a log and help me decipher it?

    Thanks for any help!

When I run the APR logging tool these are the parameters I usually log:
    • throttle position
    • engine speed (RPM)
    • boost pressure
    • lambda/AFR
    • individual cylinder timing retard
    • timing angle
    • cylinder misfires

You can probably monitor temperatures too. I'm pretty new to this too so I'm sure more experienced data loggers can chime in. HTH

So I just logged a bunch of stuff, its quite a cool tool for 30 bucks and a $5 android app. Am I right that I don't want to see negative #s in the timing advance under heavy load? Most of the time its a positive # but occasionally it shows a -14.5 at around 4,500 rpm.
