Just bought this S4 2 days ago. I discuss that here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ined-The-Club!. Question is with the mods that were on the car when I bought it, was it flashed too? I went to the track for some baseline runs and to find out.
1st pass I ran hot off the street. Went through tech where they informed me that I can't run my car with antifreeze in it, only water. Ive been going to this track for almost 20 years and this is the 1st they ever Teched that, especially on a car that is clearly a street car. he said I could run this time. Anyway 1st pass I ran no cool down just right up to through staging lanes. No launch control just mash and go from idle.
So not bad, quicker than I expected. My assometer told me it was a mid 13sec car tops at 103 or so. So pleasantly surprised.
Run 2, no cool down I just jumped back in the lanes and this time tried launch control. I'm in the right lane (4077)
Car was obviously heat soaked and I could feel it falling flat on the big end.
Run 3 I let the car cool down for about 20-25 minutes and tried again with launch control. SC was still very hot to the touch.
A slight improvement and it felt better up top. Ambient air temp was 100dg according to my OBDII app. Could not measure IAT, but I'm sure they were high. DA was 1434ft with 84% humidity. Pretty suck air for this area. I got ready to make a 4th run and let the car cool for 30min. The SC was still very warm to touch, but not blazing like previous runs. Just when I got to the staging lanes it started to rain. Dammit!
Overall the car performed better than expected. Question, with this MPH does it appear the car is running some kind of tune? I think I've heard of completely stock cars running 107mph give or take. With some decent air and cool down time she may trap 110-112 maybe. Also what is the best cool down for in between runs? Should I let it idle for a while after running so coolant can circulate through the ICs? or just shut it off and pop the hood which is what I did for the last run. All input welcome!
