I'm all in for well-engineered and creative mods like u2nelson's, sold at a reasonable price... This seems to have negative functionality and sold at a large markup. If the large-brand intakes are too pricey, an aFe dry filter and silicone inlet pipe will do just fine for like $100.

As I knew this was going to happen as 4ringnut is clearly looking for some online fame in stirring the waters. He couldn't chat via PM he had to look for approval from others online to be cool. Lol.

My kits are for Canadians. By the time a K&N typhoon kit arrives to a Canadian, we will pay $500-600 CAD for that kit. I build several products for Canadians at a price point that allows us not to shell out a mortgage payment on parts to mod cars. My kits sell locally just fine. Every company starts off somewhere, APR, AWE, roc euro, they all were a start up once.

    I'm a car enthusiast. I build things.

As for dyno results, haven't been tested as yet. Fuel consumption has gone way up from an average of 12-13L per 100kms to 7.2L/100KM. That's a gain anybody would be happy about.
I have a used CTS K04 kit I will sell you. Asking $4,995. By the time it arrived I had racked up a $2,500 charge on pornhublive so i'm including that in my price

Nah, a thread can still function and have nonsense.

No idea on the heat shield. Mod one up with cardboard then use it as a template for the metal?

Yep, that's my plan, blbroo! My Wife is a graphic designed so I'm hoping that she she see's what I'm doing and comes to the rescue. If I mock up a nice template I'll try and bug her to produce a sweet pdf you guys can download. Cheers.

You are since it's basically a sealed box when you close the door. As long as it's not wet all the time and in there for long periods of time you'll be fine. If you had high humidity there then you really would have some issues with no vents.

    Fill your garage with these

But don't eat them. Says so right on there. Although I'm not entirely sure why it's in quotes.

WTF with the unnecessary quotes? I saw a sign in a restaurant bathroom recently that said, Employees must "wash hands".

now that we are off topic. I just got my wife's Jetta back from AAMCO. they wanted $800 to replace just the clutch or around $1450 for PP + flywheel + clutch.

its a 2001 2.0L jetta. 152k miles. good condition otherwise as our 3rd vehicle (mainly for the dog) (:

anyways. what are your thoughts? Ive actually always wanted to install a clutch. which one of these would you approve of?

    #1 for $229 https://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen...utch/ES205267/

    #2 (" for spirited drivers") $279 https://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen...tch/ES3098805/

    #3 with a flywheel for $485 https://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen...tch/ES2826549/

plus ill need the install kit: roughly $100 https://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen...Kit/ES2588258/

I'm leaning towards #2 because of the "spirited driver" in all of us.

For a third vehicle, get the cheapest one and save the mod money for a real intake.

JK, on the intake, but use the money for A4 mods

HIGHLY recommend NOT doing this. That is putting strain on the MAF wire and it can cause it to become unplugged. When it becomes unplugged it drops down and sits on the cat and the exhaust manifold which in turn causes it t melt. Ask me how I know.

I noticed that and sorta fixed that issue for now. It's not complete but it's getting there.

I need to seal off the lower section of the heat shield and fabricate a section above the Maf to incorporate the existing air let for the air to direct at the intake. So far I'm giving myself a Grade B. I did loosen some tension on the Maf plug, which from the pictures I've seen looks similar to that of other intakes. I'll get apply some more attention to this matter over the weekend. Cheers guys
