Dads RS7 gets a new Carbon Fiber Hood

I purchased this hood from a previous vendor but the quality on this hood is not good. I contacted the manufacturer but they said "it is what it is and they've had no complaints". I guess I can deal with that due to the price.
Just beware if you intend to purchase one and use it as it arrives. I'm a perfectionist so the body shop has a LOT of work to do. Here's the original condition.
The hood is very wavy and many blemishes.



You can actually see the weave through the clear coat.


Numerous imperfections along the front edge.


Dimples and weave showing all across the hood.


They will be removing the vents on the sides since they are fake and painting the outside edges to match the car. This body shop can do miracles and has in the past. They will make this hood look good.

Nice! I wish more companies would offer aftermarket body options for our car like this. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Its horribly HOT down here in Florida right now. I have not received the new wheels and tires yet either. I am expecting them the end of July but it will still be terrible weather to race in. I plan to go back out as soon as the weather cools down.

Thank you, I don't have a weight savings yet but I will get one. Its a double sided carbon hood.
It also has the heat extraction vents in the center.

That sucks and is not acceptable when u deal with companies out of the country make agreements before you purchace. But if you were at all interested in the hood my friend made you could've hit me up

this hood is made in China hence the quality issues. I do however really like the design except for the fake side vents.. Do you have any photos of the underside of the hood (is the framing/bracing the same as stock?). Also you have any close up photo's of the centre vent from the top and underside? I'm considering getting this hood which is why I'm asking :)

I'll post a few more pics tomorrow. The underside looked better than the top. Lol

Your mentioning that they were painting the edges of a carbon fiber hood made me remember this hood. I'm not saying that lobster claw flames are the rage but something interesting could be done by the right artist.
