Car shop replaced my pistons, rods etc. Now I get all this errors on DIS

    Hi forum!

7 weeks ago, I delivered my car to a repair shop. I have(had) the known oil consumption issue, so they changed the pistons, rods etc.. After 7 weeks of waiting I finally got a call and could pick my car up.
When I first started the car, I got a parking brake malfunction and Power steering error. (They said they test drove the car, and all was OK) I then engage, disengaged the Parking brake, and its working as it should (I hear the motors in the rear), and those error on the DIS despaired after shutting car completely off then on again. I then drove off, 10 minutes later, I got all the codes back. Power steering, ESP, TPMS, Audi Side Assist, parking brake sensor and couple more i dont remember. the cluster needles even went to zero (like if the car shut off).

Naturally I am going to call them back on Monday. But I got the car back when they where about to close, and its the weekend...
If I had VCDS I would do a read... Anything you can recommend on checking? Could I try disconnecting the battery, or would some calibration be needed when connecting the battery back?

    Thanks!

EDIT: Also, when I put my foot on the gas about 40-50%. The car jerks really bad, like its changing gears repeatedly hard!

It sounds like a Microsoft reboot may be in order. Disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes, reconnect, starry the car, let it idle for about 7 minutes and see if resetting everything works.

You were 10 minutes away and could have brough it back then. Need I say more?

Also, why make a post asking about this when you obviously need to bring it back after the holiday?!

Errors where gone after I restarted the car, thats why I took that decision. They closed after 5 minutes. They donīt open until monday.
I already have planned a little trip tomorrow, and would be glad if I can get the car running as it should. IF there was an easy fix, like a loose cable or something

I see. I would have went back anyway and made them give me a loaner again while they fix it the next day.

I wouldn't touch a thing and make them do their job. Lol

a bad MAF connector may cause this (the plug that goes into theMAF)...i forgot to plug mine back in once when i was changing spark plugs and coils and all those lights popped up as well. That may be something to check as you are stuck over the weekend.

Yea absolutely don't drive with those errors. Your car shouldn't have any of those errors if you just picked it up. Why risk damaging it even more...

Guys, I am completely aware of that it is not recommended driving the car with all this errors. I am the kind of guy who likes to tinker and learn from my own mistakes.
Anyways, I have disconnected the battery for a solid 20 minutes and connected it back. Test drove the car, still got the messages. I also saw the MAF connector, it was dry and connected. I gave up. So I cancelled my trip.

The day after, I wanted to try troubleshooting again, I disconnected and connected everything. Test drove it, and no errors! Drove the car 4 hours yesterday, not a single error, everything works, even the weird jerking disappeared.
    What did cause the problem?
I have a feeling that the shop did a pressure wash in the engine bay, which may result in wet plugs.

If you screw with it then they can say you did the damage and wont fix.

Word of advice if you pay for a service and that service is not completed properly, bring it back and get them to fix it right, don't try to correct their mistake for them.

Dont worry, I checked with the shop before doing anything. They also said that it was OK to drive

I actually had to get a lawyer because of the salesman selling me a car with oil consumption issue (without notifying me when I bought the car). Also a week after purchase, my tensioner failed aswell. He also wanted me to pay 50% of the repairs. I said nah.
Bought the car in January, and in that time i've had the car in 3 different shops for about 3.5 months. But finally back in the garage. Hope all goes well
