Shift Boot And Knob

Hey guys,

Thinking about getting a BFI knob for my 2014 B8.5 DSG. Ive googled a bit with no luck so far. Maybe posting will help. Has anyone replaced their automatic shift boot with a "manual" one aka covering up the drive, park, N, R, etc and just having like a BFI knob and shift boot showing. I'm hoping someone has done it before and can give me advice. I know I'm going to order the knob but I am unsure of how to find or install the right size shift boot to make it look nice and fit.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've seen shift knobs that look like Manual knobs and the shift button was on top but never to the point of covering the gear indicators. GL and hope someone can post links/pics if you actually can

@lambda13 has a BFI knob on his 6AT. He should be able to answer any questions you have.

Side note... All B8.5 A4s had either a manual, CVT (only with FWD), or 8 speed conventional automatic in the US. DSGs were available in other countries and on the S4, but not the A4.

You probably won't be able to cover the selectors because it is part of the center console with the lighting. Of you removed all that it would probably fit but you'd have wires disconnected or dangling around in there. No point in trying to hide you have an auto.

The little indicators pop out with the boot ring I believe. So then it would just be a big round hole all around. Problem is what boot would fit and how to mount it

They pop out but there's a plate beneath where the electronics are. You'll still have the connectors for the LED lights.
