I'm running philips x-treme vision now @ 4800k, the reason why i went for 4800k instead of 6000k is that 6000k is just not bright enough. I have yet to see any bulbs that's rated 6000k but also put out >3000 lumens.
For op, i definitely suggest x-treme OR orsam cbi, they are two of the best ones on the market and matches the DRL extremely well (I set my DRL brightness to be 40% at night and the color of my hid just blends in, if your DRL brightness is at stock the hid is even more blueish than led DRLs)
The 4800k for the philips is miles whiter than stock @ 4300k and noticeable brighter as well after burn-in.
If you really are going to get 6000k, hidconcept used to have 6000k bulbs from philips and orsam, but not right now. The only 6000k bulbs they carry now are from Blesk, which is not very good compare to the two companies above. You'd better wait for a while (may be just a week or so). hidconcept often has a discount and sometimes give AZ members a better discount, like right now.
BTW part of the reason why Acura has a better light color output is from the clear lenses they are using. You can bake open your headlights (or ask a shop to do it, i.e. Yelp "headlights modding") and swap your lenses with ZKW-R clear lenses. You will notice the difference immediately. OR you can just simply buy ecodes (euro spec headlights) which have better lenses than NA spec headlights (not as clear as clear lenses though, but theoretically safer than clear lenses)
There is an ecode group buy going on right now:

update: for your reference, here is my review of the philips x-treme vision bulbs, NOTE: That was immediately after install, after burn-in, it becomes a lot whiter (cooler color) and a little brighter.
