2) as for meets you will see threads, some of us frequent Katie's. There is a bbq this weekend.
3) Dealers: Silver Spring most definitely, some like Arlington and Rockville. Stay away from Chantilly.
4) Independent shops: NGP in Lorton, VA and Induktion Motorstports in Linthicum, MD
5) The search function is your friend.

6) ive been doing some reading and digging as to what "vagcom" is i am assuming its customizing and or modifying electrical features in the car? if so is there something that i would need to purchase on my own as well?

You won't need to buy a vagcom cable. There's plenty of people that have them that can help you out.
