Have you tried clearing it to see if it will come back?
I'm not super familiar with this sort of thing on the B6 (yet), but on the B5 this sort of fault code can appear simply from moving the seat; a result of the under-seat airbag connector shifting around.

There was a TSB a while ago on this issue. I believe the wire underneath the drivers seat needs the connector to be cut out and just crimped as one wire with a butt connector.

I believe this was the DIY for it. Unfortunately all of the pictures are gone. Click

I gave an explanation in post #40 of what needs to be done. That comment along with pictures and the other VW write up link in that thread you should be good to go.

Here's a video. This video is the passenger side but you're doing the same thing on the driver's side.

Thanks guys. I did try to clear it but just keeps popping up again. I will try this repair. Thanks again.

I have had this same code for a long time. Have tried to fix it to no avail...yet. Getting rid of the under the seat connector did not work for me. Actually, just yesterday I tried changing the the sensor from drivers side front bumper (that did not have a code) with the side sensor and now I am getting a code for both, so I am not sure what is going on yet.

Also, as I have a 2005 B6 also, and just in case you were unsure, the sensor is in the column between the front and rear door below where the drivers side seat belt is connected to the inner frame.

Just had the same code, but on the passenger side. I spliced out the connector per the DIY referenced above and it fixed my issue.
