getting rid of chrome: yes or no?

Personally not a fan of chrome in cars, specially in sport editions like the sline.

This is my Tango red Sline that I shared with you a few weeks back, when ordering I asked for the brilliant black package (also called titanium package I think) where window chrome trims, front grille and also mirror caps ae black, but it was not available .

I am planning in taking the car to get chrome trim and grill painted brilliant black, still thinking about the mirrors. I would keep maybe the chromes on the bottom front (where fogs used to be).

Look at the Audi configurator image of the tango red with the brilliant black package vs pictures of my car, do you say yes or no?

Can't tell if you have a chrome strip on the rear bumper too, but if you do, you should have that painted as well.

Agree cars with chromie looks like christmas tree.Black trim is much tougher and sporty.

I prefer black trim to chrome. I think it makes the car look less flashy, more understated, and definitely sportier.

A very shiny black looks great with red but I personally hate a matte flat type of black with red cars.

As soon as I get my new ride which is Matador Red, I plan to change the front grill to a black honeycomb one when they become available. I have not been able to find one for the A4 B9 2017 yet.

Can black out chrome strip on rear with same vinyl wrap as used on window trim. Comes in matte or gloss black.

I like the chrome better myself, especially on a stock or near-stock ride. Blacked out trim, on a car rolling around on OEM wheels at stock ride height... doesn't look "sporty" at all. It just looks like you have the base model car. On the other hand, with the right wheels and stance, the black-out treatment can really make a ride pop.

I'm on the fence about this as well. I have the Mythos black metallic color. Getting the front side markers painted to match the color of the car tomorrow. Then looking at painting or replacing the front grille for the black optics look. Not sure how it'll look if the the rest of the trim's on the exterior are still chrome.

Can this really be done? I thought the trim was in fact part of the rear triangle window.

after having black optics package in my current brilliant red B8.5 sedan, my new B9 avant will come with the chromes.

maybe it's just me wanting a different look, but on B9 I think the chromes look nice & classy.

new order: white avant, factory tints, s-line & keep chromes.

No need to de chrome the S4, just get it with black optics. Audi is already showing this car to journalists for their driving reviews. license plate ends with 205.

At least in Mexico, chrome comes standard in Sline version and black optics was not available when configuring.

I think black optics looks good on some cars depends on the color of the car. For red i think i looks decent IMO. Its your car tho do what you like. If you do decide to go through with it i suggust doing it completely and properly with full black optics as it would come from the factory. Not half done like some people do.

Full black optics includes front grill? Side window trim, black blades and black side mirrors
