Car went into limp mode last night

Had just done some spirited driving and the epc light came on just as I was on overrun coming up to some lights. Car was idling extremely rough and then was spluttering as I tried to set off again.
Switched the engine off and then on again and it was fine.

Codes are for misfire on cylinder 1&4, random multiple misfire and cylinder disabling.

Car is stage 2 and always run on 99ron (equivalent to your 93). Hopefully it's just a one off brain fart.

Yeah, coming up for 90k now. Would be strange for 2 to fail at the same time though?

Might want to look at changing your plugs if you haven't already and have run them hard for a while (since factory install). Other than that, it could have gotten a bit hot and misfired, especially if you were doing long pulls or something like that. The red ignition coils that Audi uses in the S/RS/R cars are pretty solid, so I wouldn't blame those just yet.

I would say you're probably due for all new ones along with plugs.

Changed the plugs about 15k ago. I suppose it can't hurt to change them along with the coils.

No idea if carbon buildup would cause a problem, but maybe something to look into.

What plugs did you use? If they were iridium ones, that could be your issue. I can't speak for this platform, but comparing OEM plats to iridiums in another boxer engine, the iridiums caused the ECU to run less spark advance. Since then, I've not really trusted them much.

I'm running iridiums (one step colder) with no issue... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

OP, time for new coil packs for sure. I did mine at 60k. I'd start there and then report back if it's still happening.

Funnily enough I had the email from them come through as well today.
Been running like a champ tonight, no issues at all. I will change the coils though as a matter of maintenance. No idea what plugs they put in, I had it done at MRC when I went stage 2.

Do you have a boost gauge? If not, then maybe rent a bore scope and remove your 02 sensors to check. Your cats might be clogged.
