    AUX/IPOD Cable Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, i just picked up an 05.5 B7 A4 as my daily driver and i noticed that the previous owner installed an aftermarket AUX/IPOD adapter in the glovebox. The only problem is i cant for the life of me figure out how to use it. I've tried just about every button and combo on the stock stereo and still can not get it to work. Maybe someone on here can help identify it or tell me how to use it? I attached a picture of what it looks like. Its a 3 wire cable with an old ipod connector, usb input, and aux cable.

I've tried that. I believe mine has an in dash 6 disc changer and I tried loading each individual disc slot, but still nothing. Im pretty confused by it.

Push CD twice and it will switch to the CD changer and it should work. I have the OEM Audi Ipod adapter and that is how mine works.

How is it connected in the glovebox? To the OEM hookup?

The wires go through the back of the glovebox and can be seen running to the back of the stereo through the little crack on the left side of the glove box

Unfortunately not, I was hoping there was just something I was missing with using it but it looks like I'm gonna have to pull it out and see what's going on.

I'd buy a set of radio keys online (they are cheap) and pull the radio. It's fairly straightforward and you should be able to see how it's connected or at least what brand it is.

    AUX/IPOD Cable Question

That's a symphony 2 so it doesn't have any real provision for Aux input like symphony 2+.

My old b6 had one that interfaced through the SAT radio function. Could be yours is disabled or broken. Given that yours has usb, iPod and 3.5mm jack, my guess is that it's a "dumb" converter and uses the 3.5mm jack for audio and the iPod and usb plugs are simply for 5V power for the phone/device.

Cool thanks for the info. Yea i'm guessing that since nothing anybody has suggested is working, it must be broken/disabled somehow. I guess we'll see when the tools I ordered come in.

    UPDATE:

So I finally got the tools needed to find pull the radio out and this is what I find. A "parrot blue box MKi9200", anyone else have one of these? After searching online it seems that these are supposed to come with some sort of handheld bluetooth reading device, which my car did not come with. Could this be the reason why the cables are not working?
