    Hey Guys,

I'm looking at my exhaust options and since I'm already dropping a pretty penny on suspension I have to see what i can get. I recently heard awe non resonated dps with the sport exhaust sound sick.

Has anyone on here done this before ?

I want to keep my valve system until i get another full exhaust.

Hey, just curious on your opinion, was it worth it getting the AWE non res downpipe with the sport exhaust on the rs5? and how much was it to get installed and all? thanks!

Would like to know this too - didn't know it would fit with stock exhaust.

Also was there ANY power gain from this?

Resonators typically won't create a restriction so there's no gains to be had by removing them. If the welding/transition is really bad, sure, there can be a gain. But adding or subtracting a resonator isn't really going to make any difference. High flow cats or cat delete would be the way to go (although for the record I don't believe in deleting cats). Those'll make measurable gains with the stock exhaust.

There are gains in getting rid of stock dps as they are very pinched in parts compared to aftermarket dps

Ok I'll bite, then what about high-flow Cats - who makes the best ones and cost etc?

HFC's would necessitate engine removal unfortunately, they're hard to get at. The catalytic converter is going to offer far more of a restriction than the OEM downpipe itself, even with the dimples and flattened areas. Downpipes for sound? Most definitely but you'll feel no real gains. I'd be shocked if the downpipes showed more than a 1-3 whp gain, well within the realm of the dyno's fudge factor.

I haven't seen any that are readily available. I know GMP is working on that header/cat setup but again, you'll have to drop the whole engine for installation.

Awe tuning makes the non res Downpipes that attach to the stock catback. The Downpipes for our cars do not have CATS they are up near the headers so you don't need to worry about that

Thanks I guess in order to get some real gains using stock exhaust, I'd need to find a set of the sick Kline Headers (requires dropping the engine to install), then stick on some high-flow Cats and new downpipe at the same time. Won't be easy finding those headers now that they're discontinued :(
