    Dealership Recommendation?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What dealership is everyone using for their service needs? I am pretty close to Audi Silver Spring, but if there is another dealer that is recommended, I would love to hear your experiences. Also, if the dealer if mod friendly, that would be a plus. I am currently stock but plan on doing some upgrades.

Silver Spring has never treated me wrong. In my experience the service advisors tend to be on the enthusiast side, and don't mind seeing modded cars (though be careful after you do mod in case they need to scan your engine). The techs, similarly, like asking about the cars. Service-wise, I've had Phil, Aaron, and Pete before, and they've all been good.

DON'T GO TO Hunt Valley. Bad experiences there both times I took it in for service.

I have to agree. The staff at Silver Spring is great! The service advisors are very helpful and the girls are cute. The parts guys are really helpful. Finally the techs are cool. I talked with the shop foreman when I went there for a MAF sensor and he is pretty well versed in the mods for the RS4 that he has. If you live close to Silver Spring then there should be no question.

However some of us live in VA and I like Audi Arlington for VA owners that don't want to make the trip up to Silver Spring.

Silver Spring for sure. I make the drive from Ashburn, VA just to go there - they are that good.

That's my old RS 4 that Bruno has, it's nice to see it when he has it there.

Well I guess that answers my question about Hunt Valley.....I need my 45k mile service done. Anyone have experience with Audi in Wilmington, DE? They are the next closest dealership to me. Or, do I even need to take it to the dealer? I have a 2013 CPO, so there is still some of the original warranty left. I'm worried if I do the work or take it to an independent mechanic, the CPO warranty could be voided....thoughts?

If you or an independent shop/mechanic do the maintenance with parts that meet or exceed the OEM specs then you are fine for keeping the little bit of CPO warranty that you have left.

That is actually what the Moss vs Magnuson laws were writen for. A lot of the tuning companies quote the Moss vs Magnuson laws out of context for modifications but they were meant for maintenance because some OEM manufacturers were voiding warranties over stupid stuff like OE engine oil filters instead of them being OEM.

If you are located in Aberdeen MD then NGP is probably only a few minutes away from you. I would take it to NGP if you don't want to do it yourself. Otherwise Audi Silver Spring is like a hour away depending on traffic if you want a dealership to do the 45K service. The 45K service on a 2013 A4 is basically just an engine oil and filter change along with the normal small stuff like checking/topping off the fluids, setting tire pressure, and reseting the service reminder.

EDIT: I just noticed that your 2013 A4 is a manual. That is cool! I always enjoyed when a manual B8/8.5 A4 would come in because they are peppy little cars with a stick. The slush box automatics tended to put me to sleep on test drives.

    Yes, save the manuals!

NGP is about 2 miles from my house.....I just wasn't sure if it had to be the Audi dealer servicing through the warranty/CPO period....should warranty issues happen in the future, could they point to me and say "prove you did the 45k mile maintenance." If I did it, besides buying the parts, how could I prove it?

Keep your receipts for the oil and filter along with a record of of the date and mileage when it was done and you are good to go. Make sure that you use an engine oil that meets the correct VW spec. Should be VW 502 for your car so the normal Mobil 1 0W-40, Castrol Edge Euro blend 5W-40, Pennsoil Platinum 5W-40, Lubo-Moly 5W-40, or Motul 5W-40 is good to go. In my experience both the B7 2.0T FSI and the B8/8.5 2.0 TFSI engines really like the Lubo-Moly engine oil. That oil tends to cut down on the oil consumption. Which helps because both 2.0 engines are a bit thirsty on engine oil.

Audi Wilmington has been great for me for years. AVAutoworx is about 10 minutes south of Wilmington (10 minutes North of the DE MD state line and also does nice work at reasonable prices. The owner is a former Audi Tech and has Saturday hours for those who want to come in for small repairs/oil changes while you wait.

Just bought my Audi from Wilm (live in DE). Entire team there is awesome and definitely on the enthusiast side. Highly recommend them if it's reasonably close. Jeremy was great last time I went for service.

Had a question. Does anyone have experience with Audi of Arlington and mods? I wanted to do a few basic mods (RS4 grille, Transmission Mount Bushing Insert, & Drivetrain stabilizer, maybe rear sway bar) but don't want to get TD1 flagged. Would Audi of Arlington give me grief for these types of mods? I have about 20 months left on a CPO extended warrany.

Cant speak to Arlington, but if you want to stay in VA, then you can try Chantilly. I had a poor experience with them the first time, but their service manager contacted me right away and talked a good talk, so I gave them a second chance and they were fine the second time. My SA there has a badass modified B6 S4 Avant and the manager also drives a modded car, so you can talk to them and they wont TD1 you unless they have no choice due to computer. I'm lowered and had no issues, just tell them. Brian Kennedy is my SA.

Another positive experience for Audi Wilmington. I re-entered the VAG family this past weekend, picking up a CPO SQ5 Prestige from Wilmington. They were great to deal with on the sales side. Car was missing the Audi Protection package mats from the original window sticker, they ordered them for me and shipped them to me. That was a couple days *AFTER* the deal was done, and I realized what the protection package included.

I had a great experience a week and some ago at Audi Turnersville, in Turnersville NJ. My C5 allroad had TERRIBLE alignment, even before replacing the control arms, etc. Used their online chat function to schedule up the appointment, and they were very friendly (even when I had to reschedule). When I arrived, drove right into the center, got out and spoke to the service advisor. One of my rear calipers was sticking so I made sure they didn't actuate the parking brake--and they didn't the entire time. While they couldn't loan me a car, they did drive me down the road to grab some breakfast (Q5) and picked me up (B9 A4). Nice waiting area and soon after the car was done, with both a multipoint inspection and the alignment results. Great, friendly people there, and alignment was definitely done right!

I bought a Q5 from Audi Wilmington last night to add to the stable. Steve and Joe in the sales department were outstanding. Took the time to answer my wife's questions until past 7pm. Very much appreciated them.
