B8.5 2013' - 2015 Facelift model - Show Us Your..... LIPS!!! lol

Hi guys,

I am needing a little help & direction with finding a suitable Boot/Trunk lip spoiler. I had performed a search prior on this forum and there is a good thread in 2012', when a member named brinesi seemed to have started a trend. Unfortunately, it was for the pre-facelift model.

After learning that there is a slight difference with the curve between B8 & B8.5's boot/trunk (again Thanks to Audizine & its helpful members for pointing out the difference ) There doesn't appear to be much aftermarket availability for the 8.5 on eBay etc, Majority are for the pre-facelift.
I do prefer purchasing off ebay as postage to Australia from anywhere other than UK or Asia is just off the charts.

I am after something that's a bit conservative looking, such as the one pictured here:



I believe this is either an ABT or Rieger replica?

This one for e.g, looks far too flamboyant for a 4 door family sedan. ( I believe its usually advertised as a 'C-style' lip... I forgot the name of the original brand, something starting with a 'C'.




Could the kind B8.5 owners of Audizine show me what they have, for some ideas aswell?

Overseas eBay vendors were calling their eBay stuff "B9" in order to distinguish it from the 2009-2012 B8.

IMO. Adding a lip to these cars are a waste. The lip comes built into the trunk from the factory so adding one makes you look like an idiot. But to each his own.1

Do you fail to see the douchebaggery there? Are there any aftermarket replicas? I'm sure I've seen some that really look like that one.

Yeah I had noticed that and I had got into a bit a of a debate with a seller recently and they were adamant that the B8.5 are B9s...
Its kinda confusing, but whats worse is when they post the first pic of a B.85 with it and the next few pics are ones of B8s.. a good way to throw you off.

To be honest, I appreciate the freedom of speech. I agree with adamazing, he has a good point. with that sort of reply, I would've expected from a 'Boot Lip, Yay or Nay' thread. But even then, knowing that fellow members on this forum having one and using derogative words is a bit antisocial and inconsiderate IMO.

By the way, adamazing, that type-c lip does look good on your car, compared to others pics ive seen on ebay making it look too exaggerated.
I cant seem to figure out what it is, perhaps the wide wheels and on a lowered car?

Ill give you that i may have came off as a Douchebag and i could have said it better so it didnt sound like i was calling people idiots instead what i really meant was their their redundant choice is. Really though this is a fourm and i think your being a bit too sensitive about it. i didnt say you cared what i think i meant that you shouldn't care when other people knock your mods. We have a whole thread on here for knocking mods "things you shouldnt do to your B8" and while some of those are extreme examples some arent and you dont see anyone in there getting all butt hurt cuz someone else is knocking their mod. If your gonna be on a forum it kinda goes without saying you need a little thick skin, especially with the crowd on az

Not sure.. whatever that rubbery plastic shit is called. I heated it up (under the hood..lol - yes the car was off) it was nice and bendy, lined it all up and it was golden.

I disagree- I think that it looks pretty damn good, way better in person and definitly improves the handling.. OK-- Joking about that part.

Yeah the one you have looks good. I think it would look better if it was further back, there still appears to be a slight gap with the boot.

Pared, Yes this L-shape type is on a lot of modern cars. On some cars it looks nicer than others. Including the C63 AMG, because the car is so iconic, no one things it looks terrible.

Sorry - the lip that actually goes over the edge slightly is light years better. It's subtle and actually flows with the car.

This lip you have is a generic stick on that they produce for so many platforms.... If you like it, that's all that matters.... But I hate that thing. There was a much nicer option out there that I used to have on my b8 and they had it for the b8.5. Replica of the competition spoiler and it was about $80 painted. I was one of the first to get it for the b8 platform on here when it was released.

I contacted the seller regarding mine needing to be Mythos black metallic. He said they can paint it to match any OEM color.

I like that one too, i'd like to see some top/side view pics. If i remember correctly, it sits kinda flat with no raised portion off the back- just kinda extended the rear of the trunk-deck - if that makes sense. I like the small uptick at the end of the spoiler - which is why i went my direction.

I think thats b/c of the close up pic.. There is a gap, but its only about the width of a Normally sized index finger (not some gorilla handed Mans' Man hand lol)..Actual gap is probably closer to 3/8ths, maybe 1/2 - DEF not 3/4's
