Putting the Engine on a Stand

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What bolts/locations should I use to put a 2.7t on a legit engine stand? If you know bolt lengths, diameter, and thread pitch, that'd help immensely. Picture examples would help as well.

    Thanks!

dont they all come with those arms?

which trans bolts did you use? I assume you must have used washers to space things correctly?

I use the trans bolts as well. No washers necessary. I only used 3 bolts...there isn't one in near the starter...

Alright so from the looks of things, its the top 2 bolts, along with 1 from the starter and another from somewhere on the driver side of the block.

My engine seems to have different mounting points... I only had 1 bolt at the top at about the 12-oclock position whereas you seem to have two. Not sure what to make of that.

i actually went with the trans bolts to a hardware store and picked up some new ones i never liked just using 3 so i found and nut and bolt that i could use near the starter without the starter in place. and i use it sounds funny but the big nuts that hold the mater cylinder to the brake booster as spacers when i need them. i don't like my engines all loose and sloppy on the stand.

Thats the plan. First step is to figure out which locations Im going to use, then getting appropriate bolts from Home Depot (heavy duty bolts, of course). Going to also measure the depth of the bolt bore in the block where applicable to figure out how long the bolt can be.

How can people get to the need to put the engine on a stand step and not know how to put it on a stand?
