    A/C intermittently not blowing cold

Hey everyone - Earlier this year my 2011 Audi A3 TDi S-Line started to blow warm air intermittently. Took it to the dealer, who said it only had 300 grams of refrigerant, whereas normally it has about 500g. So, he had the tech top off the freon.

It is still blowing intermittently warm and also takes 8-10 minutes before cooling down in our 110 degree PHX summer heat. It used to start cooling down 2-3 minutes into my commute.

Dealer says that the freon charge is still exactly where it should be; it's "just hot here right now", which is BS, because I had a new A5 loaner which froze my ass off last week.

Any other thoughts on what the culprit could be besides low refrigerant? Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my previous car. Went to dealerships, Indys and AC experts. They wanted to overhaul the system. Turned out all I needed was to replace the relay. After that it was perfect. Worth a try and it's probably the cheapest thing to try.

UPDATE: I finally got the dealership to replicate the issue of not cooling in very hot weather. Going to get the compressor replaced and the extended warranty will pay for the replacement!
