    Troubleshooting

Hello, I'm in the process of repairing an A4. I'm having trouble with the Hood staying shut. I can get it to latch but at driving at a decent speed it'll pop up about an inch with the hook still latched. When pulling the Hood release I have a normal amount of resistance but it doesn't pop the Hood up. Also I'm getting the parking break malfunction + passenger airbag off error. It isn't giving any codes though.

    Any help would be appreciated.

In regards to the hood, when you close it, pull on it to see if you can get it to pop open yourself. It's possible you might have to replace the latch mechanism and/or the cable to the latch. What's nice is there's a cable coupler, right behind the driver's side headlight, where only from that section to the hood latch needs to be replaced. You don't have to go all the way into the cabin; that's a separate cable.

Do you have a VAGCOM? If so, cycle through the parking brake procedure.

I think I may have found the culprit. The bottom latch looks like there is a piece broken inside.

Can anyone confirm if this is normal or not?
