APR Teaser: Adding more power to the 3.0 TFSI.

We love the 3.0T, and we’ve spent quite some time figuring out how to add more power. We’ve tested expensive and inexpensive. We’ve tested too much, and too little. We’ve tested things others have done, and new things unseen. We’ve tested the good and the bad, and we think you'll be pleased with what we have to offer.

Below is where the market was (Green – Pulley), where the market is (Blue - Dual pulley), and where APR is (Red - #soon).

if you can add that type of power increase, as well as making map switching for different octanes available on the C7 A6 C3.0t, might be enough to keep me from jumping to the S6.

Arin, do you know if there is a specific reason the C7 A6 does not get map switching? is there a technical hurdle or simply not enough demand, thus not worth the development cost to APR? In my area where 91 is the standard, but there are a handful of stations I can get 93 and race gas, it sure would be nice to be able to switch to a different octane map

Switching: The way we do it on the S4 is extremely complex. That means lots of time, labor, and resources, which we would be unable to support, even with several more employees. So, we rewrote the way it works, but it excluded a few main ECU families. We ditched that path because it would make it too difficult for most to understand if it was available or not. We're actively working on another routine that should cover all. I can't comment on an ETA till I have a copy of it in my hands and working.

C7.5: Audi pulled a fast one on everyone with that. Only a limited selection of cars get the new engine, and the brand new ECU type. It requires a ground up campaign for everyting: Reading an ECU, writing to an ECU, logging an ECU, finding the maps, calibrating, and so on. It's very resource heavy, and difficult, thus the delay.

ok. So I am considering getting a Stage 2 done and have been talking to my local shop about it. I have a 2014 A6. Should I hold off on getting the stage 2 and go straight to whatever this new black magic is bringing to the show? With no numbers on the chart I can't really tell what "better" means...but somehow I think I'm going to like it, aren't I?

I believe that you will be required to have stage 2 for this new upgrade. Not 100% but I have a good idea of what it is. I believe it is a solution to a common issue with the 3.0.

I don't think so. You can continue on with your modding path now. Our catalog will be compatible.

Considering how few issues there have been and that other's have been home brewing with dual pulleys, stacked chips and less than safe remaps, I'd say APRs well developed solution will be safe.

I'm loving my stage 2, and I'm excited for whatever power you guys are cooking up.
I have a question, why does our engine or trans shift at what seems to be below peak power. Mine shifts right at 6200. Power curve shows power to 7000.
Another option is the duel pulley setup some of the S4 guys are using.
And on that note, we should be able to use a larger pulley setup since our cars never reach the Rpm limits of the super charger.
I may be digging into your release here, but if you have any info you can share I would appreciate it.
Either way I'm eagerly waiting for boost season.
